Alex Berr is an American comedian and scientist. While earning her PhD in Biomedical Engineering in Chicago, she started performing stand up and improv comedy. She’s performed at festivals around the world, including Madison Comedy Week, Fest Florida, and the Edinburgh International Improv Festival. Alex founded the sell-out science-comedy show, Uncontrolled Variables. After the show’s success, she also started the Uncontrolled Variables podcast; each episode she is joined by a guest comedian, and together they interview a scientist about life, death, and the universe (ie. their life in and out of science).
After moving to London, Alex quickly made a name for herself on the UK scene, getting nominated for the 2023 Funny Women Award, the 2024 BBC New Comedy Awards, and performing her well-received work-in-progress show at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe.
“Berr’s natural charm is a bright way to start any day, despite her dark subject matter” ★★★★ (The Wee Review)
